So I have taken the plunge and opened an Etsy shop. I have seen Etsy around for a long time, people I know who are sellers on there have convinced me to give it a go, that’s what I’m doing.
I have 10 items so far, (probably more by the time I’ve written this blog and published it) each listing it is 20 cents, around 16 pence each. Each listing lasts 4 months, before renewal. There is a monthly subscription that you can opt in to, that’s £8 per month, you do get other benefits with it, one being 15 credits per month that let’s you add 15 items each month to your shop, there’s also credits you can use to help advertise your shop too. The subscription I’m on, is basically pay as you go, which suits me at the moment.
I have been told that it’s better to have at least 50-80 listings so you get seen by more people. This is taking me a little while to get this amount on there due to not having made enough stock to list yet, I am working on creating more items.
This is going to be trial and error, I will definitely try to make Etsy work for me, I know it’s going to take time.
Right so for now I’m going to end this here. I will do a follow up post in a few months just to let you know how it’s going.
Keep your fingers crossed for me that I can get some of my items sold.
If any of you have any tips or advice for selling on Etsy, please leave a comment for me.
Until next time.
