I turned 42 on Sunday(18 feb) I’m still in shock, how on earth did that happen, I still think I’m in my 20’s. Unfortunately my face is telling me different and I see those pesky lines appearing on my face 😫 Time to try, to do something about it I think.
Today I have purchased, what I hope will be a miracle potion,(I know there’s no such thing really) has anyone else tried this, does it actually work do you think?
Another purchase I made was more because it is a tinted moisturiser as I don’t wear foundation, but if it wants to get rid of those pesky wrinkles too, hey that’s an added bonus surely.
As I’ve shown you my newest additions to my skincare range, I thought I’d let you have a look at what other skin care products I use and also ones that I’ve yet to try out.
This is my little basket of products, I’ll go through them by brand.
First up are the cleanser and toner. I love the fact that these are so mild as I have quite sensitive skin due to having psoriasis, but I can use these and know they will not irritate my skin. I use these every morning and night too. The Garnier Micellar gel wash is priced at £3.99-£4 . The Simple soothing facial toner is priced at £3 , both are readily available in high street shops, supermarkets and online.
Olay are a brand that I’ve used for a very long time, I love that there are so many different products for all sorts of things, here are 3 that I’ve been using over the last year and can only say good things about them. I have the Olay complete everyday tinted moisturiser with spf 15. I don’t use this everyday only when I feel my skin is particularly dull and it needs a touch of colour. I never use foundations as I prefer to use a tinted moisturiser instead, this one is nearly empty, hence why I purchased a new one to try out, this is priced at £4.89-£4.99. The next item is the 2-1, Olay firm and lift, hydration and primer. This I use before putting any makeup on. It makes my skin feel so soft and fresh looking, again this has almost run out, so I will have to find a new product to test out. I do however really like this, priced at £4.89-£4.99 The final Olay product is another 2-1, hydration & radiant glow, it is a fairly new purchase, but so far I think it certainly making my skin less dry and I really like it, again it is spf 15, which is always good. This is priced at £4.89-£4.99
Here are two different types of clay mask that I am using. The Quick Fix Facials is so lovely and most certainly helps if you have any redness in your face, I have a very red chin and after using this it does make a difference, also it is for sensitive skin so an added bonus for me. This was priced at £4.99. This next clay mask by Beauty formulas, is a very recent purchase and I’ve only used it once so far, but my goodness my skin felt amazing afterwards, very inexpensive at only £1, from The Range. I will continue to use this for sure.
These are both very new and I haven’t actually used them as yet, both are by NIVEA. The tub is an all round moisturiser and it smells amazing. I have used NIVEA products before and have always really liked them, but I think I’ll probably use this particular one for my body after a shower. This is priced at £4.29. I did mention above that this next product I bought because it is a tinted moisturiser as my OLAY one is running out so I thought I’d give this one a try, I have had a little look and the colour is lovely but I haven’t tried it on my face yet. If it’s one you’ve tried why not leave a comment below and let me know what you think. This is priced at £10 I however got it whilst on offer and it was £5 so definitely worth looking about to find offers.
This next set of products are from the L’oreal range. I have been using the Age perfect pro-calcium day cream, for a while now, which is quite funny because it wasn’t actually the cream that I ordered, as this particular cream, if i’m not mistaken is for 50 years plus skin, but I really like it and it does leave my skin in lovely condition so that was indeed a good mistake, priced at £14.99 (I think this may have been discontinued as I could not find a link to it online) My newest addition is L’oreal Paris, revitalift, hydrating smoothing facial serum. I’d never used a serum before but had heard good things about them so I thought why not give it a go. I’ve only been using it for just over a week, twice a day if I can, although I haven’t noticed a vast difference I do think it leaves my skin incredibly soft and silky, I will continue to use it and see how it goes. Priced at £12.99 but again I got this on offer and I paid £6.
This is the last face cream that I have and use and this is from Tesco, it is part of the sCOSMETICS range, is anti-age, collagen and silanol face cream. I haven’t tried any others, but I do like this cream, it does leave my skin very soft and silky, which is lovely. Unfortunately I can’t remember what I paid for this, but I can’t seem to find it online now either, so maybe it has been discontinued.
The very last of my lotions and potion are from one of my favourites, Baylis & Harding, England. I actually got these as part of a gift set, so I’m not too sure on the price or if you can buy these tubes on their own. They are limited edition body lotion and softening hand cream, in jojoba, silk & almond oil, and oh my goodness they smell absolutely amazing as do the other items in the gift set. Also included in the set were, body wash, shower creme, soap, bath crystals and a body polisher. As this was limited edition, I’m not too sure if they are still available, but if you can get a hold of them, then do.
I have also noticed that prices do vary considerably from shop to shop and also online, so always recommended that you have a shop about.
That’s it for this blog, I hope you’ve enjoyed finding out about the different products that I have used and am currently using, in the bid to make myself beautiful (lol)
If there are any products that you use and can recommend, then please do leave a comment.
I will leave links to as many of the items as I can.
Until next time, take care and have fun xx
